CIBUL has been identified as the world's leading Centre of International Business Research in International Business Review "International Business Research: Trends and School Rankings", rankings are based on publication success in the four leading journals in International Business (Kam C Chan, Hung-Gay Fung and Wai K Leung, "International Business Research: Trends and School Rankings" (International Business Review, Vol. 15, No. 4, pp 317-338, August 2006).
CIBUL was named as the top non-US Centre for publications in Journal of International Business Studies (JIBS) (2001-2007) as reported by the University of Texas at Dallas rankings (2007).
In an assessment of publications in International Business and International Marketing, Leeds University Business School was placed second in the world and housed three of the most prolific authors in leading international business journals (Shichun Xu, Goksel Yalcinkaya and Steven H Seggie, "Prolific authors and institutions in leading international business journals" Asia Pacific Management Journal, 2007).
International Business Review places Leeds 15th in the world with Professor Peter Buckley as 6th top author.
Within the University of Leeds, CIBUL has been designated as a Gold Peak of Excellence for the outstanding international calibre of its research, one of just twelve in the University, and one of only three outside the natural sciences.
