Dr. Bo Wang

Deputy Director of Business Confucius Institute at the University of Leeds and a visiting fellow on energy and environmental policy at Leeds University of Business School. Bo is concurrently an associate professor at the School of International Relations, the University of Business and Economics in Beijing (UIBE) and the Deputy Director of Institute of Global Low Carbon Economy. He is also a member of the expert consultants committee for Chinese Ministry of Commerce on environmental and energy issues.  Bo's research has focused on political and institutional dimensions of climate change and energy policy. Bo was conducting comparative studies of international climate change policies at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard Kennedy School of Government during 2008 - 2009. He was also a research associate at the School of International Development, University of East Anglia, UK 2009-2011. Bo completed his PhD in International Relations, with a focus on Sino-U.S. relations, from the China Foreign Affairs University. His dissertation concentrated on U.S. oil policy.

Bo teaches Chinese politics and foreign policy, American politics and international relations theory at UIBE.

Bo is currently directing several national and international research projects, among which are “the Feasibility of Sectoral Approach in Bridging Chinese National Mitigation and International Climate Governance”( Chinese Ministry of Education project, 2010-2013) , Renewable and Clean Energy Investment in APEC, ( APEC Secretariat  and Chinese Ministry of Commerce commissioned project, 2011-2012) and “Technology Transfer Issue in International Climate Change Negotiations” Chinese National Social Science Foundation project, 2012-2015).
