Dr Hanna Gajewska-De Mattos is a Lecturer in Business Development in Emerging Markets and a Director of Learning and Teaching of International Business Division. She graduated in European Studies from the University of Economics in Poznan and in Translation and Interpreting from the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznan. She was also a European Union Phare ACE Scholar at the University of Leeds from which she obtained her doctorate. Prior to her current post, she was a Foundation for Management Education (FME) Research Officer in CIBUL and she also worked on International S&T Cooperation Policy issues in the Directorate General for Research in the European Commission in Brussels. Dr Gajewska-De Mattos has carried out a number of national and international consultancy assignments (e.g., European Commission, British know-how fund, British Library). Her current research interests centre around cultural issues in international management and in particular the role of cultural distance within international mergers and acquisitions. She conducted empirical work on cultural aspects of post-merger integration in German-Polish and British-Polish acquisitions. Other areas of interest include the role of language in international business, research methods in international business and challenges for business arising from widening and deepening of the European Union. Dr Gajewska-Da Mattos holds the University Teaching Fellowship (UTF) which recognizes and rewards excellence in teaching and supporting student learning. In her UTF project she is particularly interested in transforming the level of engagement of external stakeholders in curriculum. More details
