Professor Buckley founded the Centre for International Business at the University of Leeds (CIBUL), one of the world’s leading research centres in International Business, and has carried out consultancy assignments for central government, local government, international bodies and leading companies. His current research interests centre on the theory of the multinational firm, knowledge management in multinational firms, the international transfer of technology, the impact of foreign direct investment and foreign direct investment in China, and outward direct investment from emerging countries, particularly China and India.

Adam Cross is the programme director of our International Business programmes. He has industry experience as an International Trader, dealing with some of the world’s leading multinational companies as both customers and suppliers. His research is centred on the decision-making by international managers concerning foreign market entry and the exploitation of intellectual property around the world

As well as his role as Programme Director for the MSc International Business, Nicolas Forsans also plays a key role in the Schools research interests as Director of the James E Lynch India & South Asia Business Centre.

Chinese cross-border investments have surged since the mid-2000s. The European Union has benefitted very little from this development. Chinese investments in Europe account for a very small percentage of overall inward foreign direct investment in the EU. This is despite the efforts by EU member state investment promotion agencies to attract Chinese firms.
